The Orangebook Internet Directory is in its sixth year.

Ask Orangebook

You can ask our web site a question!

Simply add a question mark and what you're looking for.
For example: www.orangebook.com?insurance will find all listings for insurance companies.

MapQuest Maps

We've added area maps and quick links which enable you to zoom in and out, and to create a map for any address. When you look at a specific business listing, you'll even find a button marked "Get Map" which will show where that business is located. We're utilizing MapQuest for this service.

Ask for a map!

There's even a very simple way to get a map for any US address. If the word after the question mark (see Ask Orangebook) is "map", then Orangebook Internet Directories will tell MapQuest you want a map for that address.
For example: www.orangebook.com?map 438 Main St, Ramona, CA 92065
Check out that example. All you do is enter the address in standard American form (using commas between address, city, state then one space and the zip code). Orangebook will give you a chance to verify what it understood before going for the map.

Browse the directories

From any Orangebook screen, click on Browse (up near the top). You'll be able to scan through any or all of our business directories.

Photos

This year's edition includes many photos of our beautiful Back Country area.

History, Stories and More

You'll find a growing number of articles about the history and culture of our area, plus opinion and editorials from the years of experience the Griffin Publishing team now brings to the Internet.

Dynamic page creation

You'll notice the pages are recreated for the information you request. This site uses the PHP programming language which are small programs which create web pages created on-the-fly to show the information you have requested.

Report A Page Error

Near the bottom of every page, you'll notice a link labeled "Report A Page Error". Clicking on this will pop up your e-mail window and fill it with some technical mumbo-jumbo. When you tell us what happened, we should be able to quickly duplicate the problem and make corrections.

Events

We've added event listings to keep you aware of the local happenings. As with the links, you'll be able to submit events to be included on the Events page, allowing us to keep up-to-date with the happenings affecting the Back Country.
